Interview
Office manager reached out by email to set up an interview for the next day. Said that it was going to be a 45 minute interview. It turned into a 30 minute interview plus a 1.5 hour "skills assessment"
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at CIBC World Markets (Toronto, ON) in Jul 2023
Interview
Quite Long. Very similar to other reviews. Executive Director thoroughly asked questions based on resume. I was already prepared for the dismissive nature and got to the last round. Last round was a financial modelling and writing test of 2-3 hours in person.

Question 1
How will you make an impact if you join the team? What makes you different from the other candidates? Know your resume inside/out
I applied online and an Executive Director from CIBC ER department contacted me. Her attitude is super rude, like I have to come to interview next day, otherwise I won't be considered at all. During the interview, she is basically interrogated on every single aspect of my past experience. The overall experience made me feel that I don't deserve to be here working with the ER department. I don't have the quality and skillset to work under any analyst. I don't understand anything about equity research. If you see all of these in my resume, why you called me for an interview? To humiliate me?
