1. Timeline:
2020.12.15 applied online - 2021.1.10 finished online test- 2021.1.19 online AI interview - 2021.2.9 virtual assessment day - 2021.2.18 being notified not passed
There should be one more step: Final Virtual Interview, but I didn't success proceeding to that stage.
2. Participants:
Most look like European. Not a lot of Asian participants. Around 30 participants in my MS Teams group.
3. Process
3.1 Online test:
one is about personality, the other is easy questions about data science. About 90 min in total.
3.2 AI interview:
Give some situations with given outlines and ask you to describe your past experience based on them. About 45 mins.
3.3 Virtual Assessment Day:
6 hs in total, including lunch break and some other breaks. 4 p.m to 10 p.m Singapore time.
The process is: Welcome speech and introduction about H&M - Group Case Task (about 40 mins)- Speed Interview (about 20 mins) - another speech given by H&M - Individual Case Task (about 1 h) - Speech about relocation given by buddies.
3.3.1 Process of Group Case Task:
Some questions answered by participants in sequence and a leaderless group discussion. 3 candidates and 2 supervisors in one room, 12 mins for the first case discussion and 5 minutes to report the conclusion - a small break which asks candidates to review their performance in the 1st case - 9 mins for the 2nd case (a case relevant to the 1st case) - 3 mins to report the conclusion - short chat about our feelings on this case task interview.
3.3.2 Process of Speed Interview:
Personality questions. As English is not the mother tongue for both the interviews and me, I think in grammar, she uses some not-English English. So I ask her what does she mean by asking "*****?" once or twice. But she is very kind.
3.3.3 Process of Individual Case:
3 participants and 2/ 3 buddies in a MS Teams room. Being given 2 cases and we answered separately. After finishing, send the answer (word doc) to a buddy's email. The first case has 5 mins introduction and 30 mins answering time. The 2nd has less time.
4. Questions
4.1 Online test DS Examples:
activation function;
decide which one is classification algorithm and which one is regression algorithm;
confusion matrix.
4.2 AI interview Examples:
Difficulties you have met (needs to include the what difficulty, how you solve it finally, what you learnt from it, etc)
4.3 Group Case Task Examples:
Why do you choose H&M and this program;
Why you (time limit 1 min for each participant);
The first case is about a carbon-related footprint on H&M receipt, 2 questions follow the case description. One is about why H&M do this and the business value, the other is about how to implement it. Actually, I didn't understand this case and my 2 teammates didn't either. Supervisors won't give and explanations on the case even if you asked.
The second case is about H&M found some issues during the implementation of the first case. Need you to give some suggestions to solve the problem.
4.4 Speed Interview Examples:
Your strengths;
Things you need development (I think it's equal to "your weakness"), with a follow-up question: how do you conquer it when you are in this situation?
Your strengths as a person (didn't quite understand, I think it's equal to your leadership, your character or something);
Stressful time, with a follow-up question: how did you solve it;
What you like to do in your spare time.
4.5 Individual Case Examples:
Build a membership program for H&M, answer what should it enable customers and H&M so? What important features should it include and what's the priority for these features?
