The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Neo4j (San Mateo, CA) in Mar 2021
Interview
The recruiter was quick and thorough, but the hiring manager was slow to respond and didn’t respect the recruiter or me as a candidate by responding with timely responses about next steps because steps took weeks rather than days to take place, even the recruiter complained about the hiring manager’s lethargic response time. If you research the background of a lot of the managers, you can see they live in the same towns and went to college with each other, so it’s clear the dorky leadership lacks the emotional intelligence to establish a meritocracy and a lot of people just coast and work at their own pace while taking care of their cronies. As another candidate posted about another position, I don’t think they filled the position because nobody has had the profile for it on Linkedin for months after they said it was filled. It’s funny how the recruiter comes in and tries to perform damage control to their dysfunctional culture by responding with typical excuses to any negative interviews or reviews. You can also perceive that there are a lot of typical fake employee “reviews” with pros posted in the cons section. As my wife said, why would you want to work for somebody who takes forever to communicate with you? There’s something rotten in Denmark, or Sweden and San Mateo.
I would love to talk about your experiences as a candidate at Neo4j. Please let me know if you're open to that. It seems that there is some confusion, though. As far as the two interviewers: one graduated from UC Berkeley, the other from Purdue. One lives in Orinda and the other Arastadero. Both are very senior in their career. Please let me know if you're open to discussing it. We would very much like to improve our processes as needed. Thanks!
