The company is a global marine engineering group specializing in ship repair, shipbuilding and conversion, rig building, and offshore engineering and construction. From shipyards in Brazil, China, Singapore, India, the Middle East, and the US, SembCorp Marine builds, converts, and repairs sea-going craft, from barges and ferries to passenger ships, as well as giant tankers and vessels. The company is one of the largest rig builders in the world, touting jack-up and semi-submersible construction, and offshore platform capabilities. It owns a 30% stake in the Chinese COSCO Shipyard Group. SembCorp is a subsidiary of conglomerate Sembcorp Industries.
