Pros

- Colleagues are good - Free Parking

Cons

1) Bad onboarding, Very little to zero induction into the job role and expect to carry out miracles. 2) Not enough training was provided for the role as I was not from an electrical background. s. 3) Micromanagement, if you are in the office. they will ask to visit customers when you are visiting customers they expect you to be in the office. 4) Ongoing jobs were not handed over to me when took over customer key accounts. 5) No guidance in daily job and your role. 6) Terminated my contract even before the probation was over, reason said that was performing up to standard within 3 months. asked the management if they practiced extending probation, was told that ABB does not practice extending probation 7) My last advice to future employees applying for this role. please be aware of the factor you might be cut off suddenly without any warning.

Pros

Yearly pay is on the average high side.

Cons

Tons of office politics, many incapable and biased managers, extremely long working hours, very slow pay progression, zero career progression, workers concerns are not attended to. Typical corporate structure, too many cons to list for the engineers and technicians, good reviews in here are usually given by management/office/interns. Engineers who want good pay and able to tolerate everything are encouraged to join.

Pros

Good products and technology, employees are nice, global organisation. Good opportunity for learning and getting exposure. If work for the right team leaders, it is ok.

Cons

Clear divide among employees, people care for themselves as no recognition for teamwork. Following the change in top management from local to foreigners in 2012, the new foreign team promotes politics in the organisation so the culture of "don't care" develops. Each foreign employee comes with own agenda. There is a clear divide of foreign vs local since the retrenchment that went wrong with a list of all locals were made redundant in 2012. The HR dept is highly political these days and the dept is over staffed. The HRBPs delivered poor services to the employees yet are treated star performers because they can sing the same tune with the new foreign team. They took employees to task if any employee give poor feedback about HR support. Staff turnover is therefore higher, at some points it is felt like a recruitment center as many people come and go.
