Pros

Addepar has an impressive, well-designed reporting platform. Remote work is supported, benefits are competitive, and overall workload is generally reasonable.

Cons

Promotion criteria were unclear and inconsistently tied to measurable performance on certain teams. Advancement appeared to favor visibility and alignment with leadership over sustained execution or outcomes, which seemed to create a “presentation over results” dynamic. The company projects a high level of confidence, but that confidence does not always align with its current market position. Despite strong branding, Addepar’s market share remains relatively small compared to its primary competitors. Frequent reorganizations and shifts in strategic direction occurred seemingly every year, with limited evidence that these changes delivered the intended improvements.

Pros

Flexible work arrangement Some good and smart people

Cons

As others have pointed out, there's a noticeable culture of favoritism at the highest levels. From my experience in the Salt Lake City office on the client support side, if you're not among the select few who are favored, it’s very unlikely you'll receive promotions, recognition, or meaningful support. Senior management at the office plays a key role in this dynamic, showing clear preference for a small inner circle while often dismissing or demeaning others. What’s especially concerning - and widely noticed - is senior management's tendency to give more attention to younger women in a way that feels both unprofessional and inappropriate. It’s something that’s quietly acknowledged by many and contributes to an uncomfortable and unhealthy work atmosphere. Leaders at this level should be setting a standard of fairness and respect for everyone, as they represent the company in a major way. Additionally, there’s an excessive push around alcohol in the office—so much so that it's not uncommon to see bottles of hard liquor on people’s desks. This only adds to the uncomfortable environment.
