Pros
- Convenient location, accessibility to MRT stations - Occasional freebies and corporate exclusive sales - Ideal if you do not care about career growth - Great if you like to hot desk, I guess, the view is pretty nice from Capital Tower - The cafe on level 30 has nice bagels, waffles, and madelines hahaha
Cons
- Was told that they want more young people and 'young people's ideas', but when young people give ideas and suggestions, we get reprimanded and told that we do not understand the 'bread and butter of our jobs' and "Don’t digress and go down rabbit holes" and in the same breath say, "Our focus is still on [the thing we young people suggested for]" - When genuine feedback is given, you may get stonewalled - Micromanaging is encouraged, and bullying is normalised - You may get pulled into a room to talk about your progress by a manager who doesn't have any work overlapping with you, they may even call you names and say you're incompetent! ❤️ - Long work hours: We worked 8.30 am - 6 pm (when 9 am - 6 pm is the norm now?) - Was told to come in earlier, take shorter lunch breaks, and work overtime for tasks that are not even urgent. Everything is an emergency, which makes nothing an emergency. And everything has to be done by EOD. Why? No one will die if this task is done the next morning. The stock price won't shoot to the moon if I stay back for this task. - Things that involve you may be discussed behind your back, and you may be the last to find out that you are taking over a task from someone else - Due diligence may not be encouraged, and you may receive a call from a colleague who would call you at 11 pm on a weekend to yell at you, even though you burned your weekend trying to make sure things are correct for an important meeting the next week! - The team turns hostile the moment your resignation is announced - Genuinely learned more in my summer internship elsewhere than in my nearly 1 year full-time here - It is tough having to find a desk every morning to do work in the very open-concept office. If you like hearing aunties talk every morning, and if you want to catch germs from people coughing their lungs out without a mask on, this job is for you ❤️
