If you can see this post. "Revenue Optimization" department, casino data analyst, don't join!!! 1. job description and interview, make you feel like will do some high tech and interesting projects. But real day to day work is like, run some code previously wrote by someone, and mannually check a lot of things, and copy paste things use excel...but can practice some SQL and Tableau. 2. super hierarchical structure. and manager don't know much modern technical skill, can not guide you through anything, but only assign you request from other department. And never give you any chance to meet any stakeholders, or learn more business knowledge (which is very important for a data analyst to give better result) 3. ED trust someone he like very much. leave everything for them to manage. ppl take credits from each other. allocate very low kpi evaluation for no reason. 4. and because the manager don't know much technical things, and trust the ones she like very much. if you can talk very well, then can bluff them you did a lot of things. And the department also bluff other department we did a lot of things using some high level models. But it is not. a lot of things mannually somehow decide something, or we present to other ppl we did but actually not, or the code wrote wrongly if you look into it. 5. someone may be extend probation, just because the manager doesn't like them. 6. A devastating work experience. like, almost 10 ppl resigned during past 1 or 2 years, nearly no one left alr. So if you join now, it will be a disaster... in a word, manager has no technical skills or management skills, but play ppl around. ppl in a higher position, they know about all the things, but they just don't care. if you cannot find other better jobs, can try, but do remember to timely seek for other opportunities. Once you feel something uncomfortable, just have the courage to run away from it. for a fresh graduate, most of the time you don't know what should be the correct way, but trust your feelings...
