Pros

Able to socialize with people of all ages & races. 30 minute bus ride from home. Salary is on time at certain times.

Cons

Managers are bias; majority Malaysian & they seem to care about their Malaysian staffs more than the locals & sadly, the locals get bullied by the Malaysians too. Promoting their Malaysian staffs to crew leaders without knowing their worth. Staff always quarreling among each other. Full time is entitled to an 30 minute break after 4 hours of working & break time is always delayed. Customers can be very nasty towards you especially when you have a problem a language barrier issue. Hectic on Sundays & PHs, the store will be packed with lots of domestic workers & migrant workers. GrabFood/Foodpanda/Deliveroo online delivery riders are also extremely very rude whenever their orders are not ready for pickup—they will scold you with vulgarity & profanity.

Pros

Experience varies heavily depending on the owner/operator you work for. Free and discounted food. 2 weeks PTO. Vision, Dental and Health insurance. Offers rapid development opportunities.

Cons

Work-life balance is nonexistent. In fact, the director of operations has stated numerous times, “Work life balance is a myth”. The company states you are required to work 45 hrs/week minimum; Realistically, GM’s can expect to work 55-60 hours in store with constant calls and messages when home. The company does not count any work done outside of the restaurant toward your 45hr requirement. There is no training for this position as you are expected to figure it out on the job. They offer $2000 per month performance bonus but are always finding new ways to disqualify you and move the goalposts when you actually earn it.
