Pros

Great work culture, diversity and inclusion, work life balance and mental health are main focus of the employer.

Cons

Shared services office is a bit out of the city which is bit out of touch for a big multinational bank.

Pros

Individuals across the function seem mostly committed to doing the right things for the right reasons. However key failures in accountability and inability to remove underperformers leaves the organization bloated with non contributors, which creates drag on those who are trying to promote positive change.

Cons

People in critical roles (project or initiative leads) tend to be glory hounds without real competency, resulting in lackluster outcomes and projects languishing without real direction or leadership. HR function fails dramatically to protect staff or to champion the staff, preferring to roll out feel good or half executed initiatives rather than do some real digging to identify problems in staff morale. Lack of accountability results in underperformers who can tai chi their responsibilities to survive very well.
