I truly need to warn people about working at Alibaba.com. My experience there was so bad, and I want to tell everyone to avoid joining this company at all costs.
Poor Work Environment and Long Hours
The work environment at Alibaba.com is terrible. It's very stressful, and there's no support. We worked very long hours, often staying late into the night and even working on weekends. There was no respect for personal time, and it felt like we were always expected to be working. This made it impossible to have a good work-life balance, and many people were very tired and unhappy.
Unprofessional and Abusive Legal Team
A highly unprofessional and toxic atmosphere exists in the legal team that I work with as I witnessed abusive behavior, including shouting and using inappropriate language towards both the business team and own legal colleagues, instilled fear and discomfort in everyone. This blatant disrespect made it extremely difficult for individuals to perform their jobs, as they were constantly apprehensive about being subjected to such treatment.
Very High Attrition Rate
Because of these problems, the attrition rate at Alibaba.com was very high. Many people left the company quickly. It showed that others also found the environment unbearable and could not stay. This constant leaving of colleagues made the work even more difficult and stressful for those who remained.
My Strong Advice: Do Not Join Alibaba.com
Because of the bad work environment, the extremely long hours, the bad culture of the legal team, and the very high number of people leaving, I strongly advise everyone: Do not join Alibaba.com. It is not a good place to work, and it will be no good for your health and your career. Please find another company where you will be respected and treated well.
