Pros

Brand name is big so it will look good on your resume

Cons

Benefits are... lacking. Leave was cut from “unlimited” to just 15 days a year which feels like a big step back. Bonus payout is strange... the financial year ends in June, but if ur not client-facing, you don’t get ur bonus until end September. Client-facing folks get monthly payouts instead of one annual bonus but only if they hit some really tough KPIs. KPIs in general are super high for client-facing roles, so the pressure is real. Perks have disappeared too. We used to have free snacks, breakfast, and drinks in the pantry, now it’s just vending machines. Zero flexibility now. No WFH at all and everyone’s expected to be in the office 5 days a week. If ur thinking about promotions, those are harder to get since the business isn’t doing great. Moving to another office overseas? Pretty much impossible these days...

Pros

Big 4 branding on your resume for future endeavours.

Cons

Too many to count. Recently the Singapore firm made a big show of harmonising benefits for "fairness and equity", but it was just an excuse to remove long cherished benefits such as flexible work and unlimited leave. Currently, there is no rational reason to work in Deloitte. The pay has always been lower than competitors, but this was made up for by the slightly better flexible benefits. Now with 5 day mandatory work in office and only 15 days of leave, you're better off joining one of the other Big 4 instead.

Pros

Impression of brand is good? to the clueless

Cons

WORK (Deloitte Digital) -Quality of work doesn't matter at all - as long as you get an extension to the project -Doesn't matter if there are qualified people to do it as long as there are bodies to be thrown at the project -Pitches are MERELY cut and paste jobs - no innovation and no thought for the brief. Clients are just being sucked day and night. Poor fools. MANAGEMENT -A joke really - both partners are abusive, talk only and do jack. Directors suck up to the partners and sleep in their 'privileged' rooms all day. -Senior Managers (who do jack most of the time as well) leave to join larger tech companies to continue selling dreams. Just linkedin these jokers (in Singapore) and you will know what I mean -Stay long enough and convince yourself enough that you are doing some form of work and you can prolly make it to director-level. 'Fake it till you make it' sounds so cliche but it's pretty much what you do all-day.
