Pros
Good place if you want a challenging job
Cons
This company brings no work life balance to a complete whole new level with this role. They arent able to hire local Singaporeans because none of them wants to work in this role so they mass hired alot of foreigners and illtreat them. The PWEs are made to work 6 days a week and sometimes 7 which is 2 times a month on average. PWEs are also expected to do cold calling to customers until 9pm after the branch closes at 430pm so we are working 9am-9pm for 5 days a week and Saturdays we have to work until 430pm. And if there's a roadshow on that Sunday, we are expected to work from 11am - 9pm which requires us to stand in malls and approach customers. No rest days are given for working 7 days a week and they only compensate us by reporting to office the next day 2 hours later. Failing to meet the expected requirements will cause you to be questioned by the bosses the next day or even on the same day after 9pm. Sales target are monthly targets which is not easy to hit. The products we are able to sell are limited and unattractive yet we are being demanded for more effort. This made some PWEs be aggressive or misell to customers and also being selfish and self centered in the workplace, causing office politics within the workplace. Higher management are also very competitive and wants to be better than other teams. So they will continuosly demand alot from the PWEs and expect them to bring in sales or they are not entitled for any rest days. Management likes to occasionally switch teams to different branches on a high frequency causing staffs to feel insecure about their current work location and the need to continuosly adapt to new working locations and environment which in turn bring down their performance. MICROMANAGING in this company is also on another level that I've never witness before. Hourly reporting of your activities need to be given to the managers during your work hours and we even need to report every single thing to them such as our leave reasons and daily appointments to every small bit of details. Annual leaves given by the company is 23 days but we are unable to take them if the target isn't achieved and we will get alot of questioning when we want to apply for leaves even if it's ONE DAY despite it being our entitlement and rights. The cluster head mentioned that the staff are expected to give all their effort as the company is paying their salary and leaves shouldn't be taken lightly. Which is why the the employees had to take MCs every month in order to rest. As a PWE, we feel like a lab rat or a machine just being used by the company to generate profit without our well being taken cared of and used for management decisions or experiments. If we are tired or demotivated, we are just given worthless vouchers that we will only receive in 9 months time and maybe give us some useless motivational video to watch. The staff turnover rate is extremely high and we are also having health problems such as symptoms like more white hair, gaining more body fat or mental health issues occuring among the PWEs. Seeing people leaving every month is also extremely discouraging for the employees. One thing I learnt from this role is that money is not a sustainable motivation for everybody. Bcz there're priceless things that money can't buy such as your health, your life, your time and also your youth.
