Pros

In Ogilvy's defence, the breadth of learning is wide but it comes at the cost of your sanity. It is super accurate to say they train soldiers so the bare minimum after life in Ogilvy feels divine. Great for your resume. Pre-COVID, they stocked the bar with reasonably-priced wines. AGM parties are also pretty lit.

Cons

This job destroyed my mental health and it feels like being in an abusive relationship. Staying as long as I did must be because of Stockholm Syndrome. The hours are long, the culture is very cliche-y and exclusive and the pay is just immorally low. There is truly a culture of divine discontent from managers as they want more and more of your time and energy. Whenever you flag that you're overworked, the problem is always you and your ability to manage your time. It's never that the workload is intense! Ogilvy is also really hung up on internal processes. Too much that they let their legacy of excellence blind them to the fact that they are falling behind nimbler, smaller agencies. Forget the career conversation, it's just lip service. Forget the culture, it's just for outward appearances and to make you feel like you're slaving for something grander than reality. Forget "woke social idealism", that's just for show. Join Ogilvy with a plan in mind - take everything you can learn and then leave right before you lose your mind.

Pros

Big brand name, great on CV and that's why they exploit you. Cures loneliness with excessive workloads and pretentious culture. Camaraderie from a common dislike for the organization. Low to no taxes when you practically don’t earn anything at all!

Cons

Honestly, if you’re smart or diligent enough to research on glassdoor and read this, then Ogilvy Singapore is really not for you. You have to be a very specific type of person to like working here. The culture is toxic, the people are toxic and some abusive. Management is in-your-face dishonest and exploitative, paying unlawfully low salaries with full knowledge it was against MOM laws. The list goes on and so should your lives, work harder to find another company to work for...

Pros

- Good location - A lot of hardworking people

Cons

Ogilvy has lost its soul. I've seen it get worse every year. - Tries to shortchange its workers by wiggling out of paying claims. Making it difficult. (Worst in the industry). - Doesn't value its workers. Everyone is just a number to them. - Snakes in HR. - Sneaky Management. - Increments are rare. Finding another company is the only way to get one.
