Our milestone is marked by the people, clients and partners who have come together in transforming the technology sector in Singapore over the years. Since 1981, the bold vision and spirit of our pioneers continue to inspire our purpose and growth ahead. We also mark the launch of the NCS Alumni, led by advisor, Shih Hor Lau (President of NCB Society) and first committee president, Wei Quan Liow. In partnership with IMDA, we are proud to launch Fusion, an integrated work and study programme targeting the next generation of tech talents in Singapore. Under the programme, 400 polytechnic graduates will be trained to become professional digital specialists and earn their University degree while working with us. Fusion complements our ongoing Nucleus Programme for University graduates. To mark this milestone, we organised an immersive launch simultaneously at Marquee in Singapore, THE LUME in Melbourne, and on a large-scale virtual platform with a metaverse experience and a digital human presenting future trends to clients and partners.
NCS recently announced the launch a Strategic Delivery Centre (SDC) in Hanoi, Vietnam, in partnership with the country’s leading IT firm, FPT Software, to expand our global delivery network and talent pool to better support the digital transformation demands of the region: https://fal.cn/3qFWH This is in line with NCS’ three axes of growth transformation - to widen its spectrum of digital capabilities and expand into more industries and Asia Pacific. NCS’ third delivery centre in the region, the SDC in Vietnam will focus on delivering high quality digital services for clients across the Asia Pacific and complement our existing delivery centres in Pune, India, and Chengdu, China. This represents the first of NCS’ growing interest and partnerships in Vietnam.
On 4 July 2022, NCS and Singapore Management University’s School of Computing and Information Systems (SCIS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding today to jointly collaborate on the Bachelor of Science (Software Engineering) SkillsFuture Work-Study Degree. The degree aims to equip young talents with the necessary knowledge and skills in software engineering while gaining real-life industry experiences during their apprenticeships with NCS. NCS also unveiled the NCS Scholarship and NCS Awards to confer recognition to outstanding students at SCIS and motivate students to achieve excellence. The MOU and establishment of the NCS Scholarship and NCS Awards are an affirmation to our belief in investing and grooming future leaders in the tech space by providing the support and inspiration to young talents building their competencies in the tech industry.
What a fantastic conclusion to the inaugural NCS x Girls in Tech (Cross-Polytechnic) Hackathon! More than 50 poly girls signed up for the 2-week hackathon (11 – 25 June) that challenged them to solve real-life problems in three tech domains of AI, Cybersecurity and Analytics or Cloud. On Saturday, the final 8 teams battled it out as they pitched their ideas and showcased their prototypes to the judging panel. What creative and innovative solutions were pitched! Girls were also mentored by industry leaders in partnership with vLookUp. Kudos to the Top 3 winning teams! Our Champion team bagged a trip to NCS Innovation Hub in Melbourne or Shenzhen + internship placement/job offers at NCS.
